In the United Kingdom we have differents celebrations and each one have a way of celebrating. And now I going to explain some.

Boxing day: Is on 26 of December and is a holiday day so the shops are closed. It is known as Boxing Day because it is an epoch in which the merchants receive his bonus. Traditionally it is a date to visit the family and friends and to devote itself to celebrate. In addition, the Boxing Day is one day for football matches and other traditionally English sports.

Pancake day: Is the Tuesday that falls down 41 days before the spring beginning, is eve of the fasting Lent. On this day, from the first days of the Christianity, all the Christians necessarily were confessing and taking advantage of the last opportunity to consume all the rich food in fats prohibited during the Lent.

Burns night: To commemorate the birthday of the Scotch poet Robert Burns, the Night of Burns is a patriotic festival that is celebrated on January 25.  The party begins with typical food, with delights as "Powsowdie"; "Cabbie-claw" and " Finnan toasties". But the speciality is in the haggis - ground lamb, offals, flour of oats and spices parboiled in the stomach of the sheep.

Carnival of nothing hill: This carnival is very famous and his beginning date back of the year 1966. Every year realizes a great holiday that began for being a traditional holiday of the Indians who were residing in London but now is an english tradition. A parade is realized where different groups are distinguished as those of South America, Africa where we see his traditional suits and can listen his traditonal music.

Computer games

3)  Another recreational activity is playing computer games.  Find examples in the English-speaking media of the effects of video gaming.  Is the issue fairly presented?  What benefits are gained from playing computer games?  What are the drawbacks? 

Of the many recreational activities that exist in this world, we can find computer games. Computer games have become more popular and are being part of the lives of little children that spend part of their day on this activity. On the internet you can find a lot of compute games with advantages in one hand and disadvantages in the other.

One of the most popular webs of computer games is miniclip.com that has more than 65 million game players per month andpublishes and distributes more than 750 games, each games is different whit their own. Another web that has computer games is computergames.ro, I've played on this page and I find it fantastic and very entertaining.

The advantages that we can find on computer games is that tend to assimilate and withhold information also they promote self-esteem that comes with success and development of basic skills such as quick reflexes and memory.

And the disadvantages of computer games are: can cause nervousness and anxiety, may cause some delay in the process of socialization and even isolation, create stress and in some cases encourage violence and report inappropriate values.

In conclusion, the computer games as everything has his good and bad side, but in my opinion it is better to spend time doing more productive things such as doing sports, playing in the playground or doing  homework than playing computer games.

Mobile phones are gradually replacing computers

Now a day phones are becoming more important and popular. Most of people don’t use them only to phone or text someone, they also use it to go into the web. Now almost every phone has internet everywhere, so you can search in the web, check your e-mail or even be online on facebook or twitter at any moment.

We could say that phones are replacing computers because phones have a lot of advantages, first because you could surf the internet anytime you want and it is really fast as the computers are, second, because if you are a business man, you don’t necessary have to be at home or in the office to check an important e-mail, and finally because they are smaller and easier to transport.

To support my arguments that phones are replacing computers, I search at the internet and I find two pages approve my ideas.

One of the websites created by Charles Arthur in England (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/jun/05/smartphones-killing-pc) said that In the first three months of this year, just under half of all the 45m mobile phones sold in western Europe fell into that category – able to browse the web, send and receive email, and run custom-written apps. So every day more people have one of this phones call smartphone.

And secondly, in the other page created by Jeff Bertolucci in the United States (http://www.pcworld.com/article/249313/smartphone_sales_boom_who_needs_a_laptop_.html) tell us that phones are already more popular than computers. New research by Canalys shows that 2011 global smartphone shipments topped those of client PCs including desktops, laptops, netbooks, and tablets for the first time and also it said fact that the mobile phone has become the world's preferred computing device.
In conclusion mi ideas supported by de websites are correct, so computers will be replace by smartphones that are intelligent phone whit internet and a lot of applications and also because they are more comfortable, easier to transport and smaller.

Advertising: Is a form of comunication used to persuade the people, it can be with images, posters,  publicity, etc. Advertising is composed with some things that make it more convincing like features, target market, placemente and strategies.


Features: This is what is special about the product that we are trying to sell.


Target Market: This is to who is the avertising direct. Whe can divide it in some groups like age, gender, income, type of person, etc.


Placement: Is when and where will the advertising appear. For example in what TVchannel or during wich shows, what time of the day.


Strategies: There are a lot of strategies that someone can use to convince the people. It can be music, sounds, color, image, humor, famous people.
